Monroe College Pageant 2012
On Thursday December 6, 2012 a diligent set of Monroe students put their best foot forward as they adequately represented themselves in the Monroe College Pageant 2012. This year saw 4 young ladies and 3 young men vying for the titles Mr. & Miss Monroe under the theme “Cultural Arena”. They were: Khoyann Evans, Karim Roberts, Ezra Bailey, Clement Antonio, Rosenel Joseph, Joseph Simms and Jasmine McDonald. Each contestant received a country to represent based on what they drew from the pot.
The contestants were charged with giving the judges a taste of that country through their talent and introduction. The noble judges this time around were:
Mr. Walter Eddie- Executive Director, Corporate Outreach & Graduate Student Advisor (BX)
Ms. Edith St. Fleur – Director of Student Activities (BX)
Mrs. Sandra Bronston – Director of Financial Aid (NR)
Ms. Mary-Ann O’Brien- Executive Assistant (NR)
Ms. Claricia Langley- Stevens – Registrar Councilor (NR)
Thanks to the MC’s, Professor Mimi Loftus and Ms. Charez Weste, the event was off to a vibrant start as the, over 200, members of the audience were beaming with excitement. The night proved to be packed with excitement as none of the contestants failed to display their creativity from beautiful costumes to steel pan drums. The attendees were also graced with performances from other students who owned the stage during the segment breaks. From the nights events it is safe to conclude that Monroe students are bursting at the seams with talent!
At the end of the night, the Results were as follows:
- Most Congenial – Khoyann Evans (F), Joseph Simms (M)
- Best Smile – Rosenel Joseph (F), Karim Roberts (M)
- Best Talent – Ezra Bailey (F), Karim Roberts (M)
- Most Intelligent – Ezra Bailey (F), Karim Roberts (M)
- Second Runner-up (third) – Khoyann Evans (F), Joseph Simms (M)
- First Runner-up (second) – Rosenel Joseph (F), Clement Antonio (M)
